Meet The Board

I have been working at Wilmington College in a variety of capacities for the past 23 years. Currently I serve as the Director of Work Programs and International Partnerships. In this role, I coordinate on-campus student employment and oversee the recruitment and advising of international students, study abroad, and international programming.

I am a proud graduate of the Leadership Clinton Class of 1998 and served on the CCLI Board of Directors from 2001-2006. I returned to the Board in 2014 and am pleased and honored to be serving as its President this year.

Dauna recently retired from public service after 35 years serving our community as recreation directions serving our youth at risk and teaching and coaching. She currently serves as vice president of the Little Hearts Big Smiles board and has served in that capacity for the past 4 years. She is also a member of the Legacy board for the Wilmington Parks and Recreation Department, a volunteer tutor for Harvest of Gold and looks forward to contributing to CCLI. Dauna is a graduate of the Leadership Clinton Class of 1997.

Scott was hired by the institute July of 2014 as the new Executive Director. He spent 35 years as a commercial banker, mostly as a commercial lender. He has a bachelor of science degree from Xavier University in business administration. He is married, has two daughters and is active in Wilmington and Clinton County community organizations serving on various boards. Currently, he is treasurer of Clinton County Convention & Visitors Bureau, treasurer of the Health Foundation of Clinton County and a board member of The Murphy Theatre.

Kelly Hopkins was born and raised in Clinton County Ohio. After graduating Wilmington High School, he enlisted in the US Army. During his tour of duty which included serving overseas, Kelly was awarded numerous citations and awards. In 1996 Kelly joined the Wilmington Police Department as a Patrol Officer. In 2002 Kelly became a Canine Patrol Officer. (Murdoc was his partner). In 2009 Kelly Hopkins left the Wilmington Police Department and was appointed by Judge John “Tim” Rudduck as a Probation Officer for the Clinton County Common Pleas Court. Kelly Hopkins maintains his Ohio Peace Officer Certification as Clinton County Deputy Sheriff. Kelly Hopkins has also held a Certification as an Ohio Police Canine Evaluator and Firearms Instructor for the Ohio Attorney General. Kelly Hopkins is a member of the American Legion Post 49, Voyageurs Militaire Locale 992 of the Forty and Eight, 40 & 8 National Box Car Association, 7th Infantry Division Association, the U.S. Army Chemical Corps Regiment, and a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6710. Kelly Hopkins is a 2014 Clinton County Leadership Institute graduate and was elected to the governing board in 2015.

Darlene is a graduate of Blanchester High School. She attended Wilmington College and graduated with a degree in Elementary and Secondary Business Education. She began her education career by teaching in the Fayetteville Perry School District. She received her Master's Degree from Xavier in Educational Administration. She then became Principal of Jefferson Elementary in the Blanchester Local School District. She was Principal for 5 years before becoming the District Treasurer, a position she has held for the past 13 years.

Darlene was elected to the CCLI Board in 2014 and currently serves as the Vice President. She has been active as a basketball coach, soccer coach and cheerleading advisor. She is also active in church activities and member of Order of the Eastern Star. She also serves on the Board of the Blanchester Area Historical Society.

She and her husband live on a farm outside of Blanchester with their 4 dogs and 2 cats.
